Free Quilt Patterns – Great Stashbusters

Finding free quilt patterns on the Internet is a great way to stretch your quilting budget. Finding free quilt patterns that don’t require a specific manufacturer’s line of fabric is even better for the budget, and finding free quilt patterns suitable for scrap quilts you can make from the stash you already have is the best for your quilt budget. So here are some quilt patterns that fit all three requirements – they don’t require specific fabrics, they are suitable for scrap quilts – and they’re free!

Feathered Friends by In The Beginning Fabrics is a great beginner’s quilt, composed of simple squares and rectangles. Perfect for a baby or lap quilt.

Quilt patterns for little boys are more difficult to find than all the pretty quilts out there for little girls. Check out this Blast Off Quilt Pattern (which also includes matching pillowcase pattern), also by In The Beginning Fabrics.

Quiltmaker magazine offers a pattern for the young car lovers in your life. This free download is called Beep! Beep! and will drive you straight to your scrap bag for every color fabric imaginable.

serenity Another great scrapbuster from Quiltmaker magazine, at 36 x 36 suitable for a baby or lap quilt, is the Serenity quilt. Great free pattern for beginning quilters or a Linus project quilt.
