OttLite GiveAway!

Last week I wrote a post concerning lighting in the quilt room, and the advantage of using lighting by OttLite. The OttLite Company has graciously offered an OttLite Floor Lamp to give away to one of this blog’s lucky readers.

I ordered two OttLites and received them two days ago, and all I can say is WOW! I had no idea that lighting could make such a difference. I do hand embroidery and hand knitting while watching TV at night. The table top OttLite next to my chair has made a startling difference by lessening eye strain – enabling me to work on my project much longer than normal, and allows me to see the smallest details of my work far easier. I gave my husband the second OttLite for his computer desk, and he’s as amazed as I am. The light does not glare off his computer screen, and, again, puts an end to eye strain while working on the computer. I can’t recommend these lights enough!

THE GIVEAWAY PRIZE

Thanks to the generosity of the OttLite Company, I’m giving ottaway a Wing Shade Floor Lamp. This light offers total adjustability with flex neck to direct the low heat, natural OttLite illumination where you need it. Excellent for crafting, reading and computer work, the low glare helps reduce eyestrain for a comfortable visual experience. 50.75 to 62 inches adjustable height, 13 lbs weight, 10.5 inch base, 72” cord length, uses replacement bulb T18330. Includes energy efficient 18wHD tube – rated to last up to 10,000 hours. Retail Price: $119.00.

HOW TO ENTER THE GIVEAWAY

Go to the OttLite web page and come back here and leave a comment on this post stating a benefit of using an OttLite in your quilt or craft space. Post before midnight (EST) Feb. 22, 2009.

I use a table ottlite for my stitchery when at my EGA meetings. It is great treat and ease on the eye strain, as you mentioned. I think having a floor ottlite would be great for either me or my mom as she does stitchery too. Thanks for the great giveaway.

One benefit is: The eye can focus better without the harsh glare, distortion and fatigue other light sources cause. Thanks!

Hi--I've used a tabletop Ott-lite for several years and love it! I would love a floor lamp for my quilting, particularly when it comes to binding. What a great advantage that would be to get bindings just right! Thanks for the entry--Chantie Belnap. chantiebelnap@msn.com

I've always wanted an OttLite for my sewing area - they really brighten up your space (and reduce eye strain) and I love the face you can see colors truely!

It is amazing that OttLite has agreed to give away this fabulous floor lamp! I have seen OttLites, but do not own one. Boy would I love to, though. They really do reduce the strain on your eyes. Plus, the color of the light really allows for a truer sense of the materials you are working with. Thanks so much for the chance to win this wonderful light!

I have the small portable Ott lite and I LOVE IT. Wouldn't go to a retreat without it...not to mention the dreary winter days in my sewing room. I've always wanted an Ott floor lamp.
Thank you for this opportunity to win one.
Fingers crossed....Eileen

I am now following your blog! Another entry for the Ott Light!

Woo Hoo!!!!

I quilt and sew at my dinning room table and the light in the kitchen is okay, but not bright enough to tell the true colors of my fabric to match up with. I need to go to a window with natural sunlight to make sure fabrics match or the thread is the color I need. Also, the light on my machine does not illuminate the stitching as well as I would like, and the Ott Light would do wonders for me to see all of my sewing "in a much better light!"
Thanks for this opportunity!
Sure hope I win!

I've had experience using an Ott task lite, and it really does make a difference. Now that I'm involved in many different crafts, I think it's time to graduate to the floor model. It's amazing how true the colors are with the Ott Lite. Thanks for the chance.

I've wanted an OttLite for a long time but resisted because of the price. My friend has one and just loves it.

I know that the OttLite will help reduce both glare and eyestrain, and help me see colors more truly in my crafting projects. I'd love to have one in my craft room. Thanks for contest and thanks to OttLite for donating the prize!

Oops -- looks like my original comment regarding the benefits of OttLites has gone missing, so I'll try again. My favorite benefit is Seeing details accurately. Under an OttLite I can see to rip out black thread from black fabric. I sure would like this lamp for my living room.

THe OttLite is amazing. I love that the lighting is the same as natural light. I remember being in a college costume class and having to run the garment over to the window to check colors. This is so nice. I also love that they've got eco friendly bulbs. Thanks for the chance!

I have one Ott light in my living room for hand embroidery, it is wonderful!! I wear glasses and still have a hard time seeing the tiny stitches and beads that I put on quilts. With my Ott light, it makes everything so much easier to see and enjoy my work. I would love to win one to use at my sewing machine as I struggle with looking at a pattern and then back at the fabric I am sewing. It is hard for my eyes to adjust. Would love to win one!!

I have two mini desk ott's currently and love them both, one by my computer and one by my extra sewing machine. I also have a floor model for my main sewing area that was a gift from my DH (who wants to take it to his office)! I guess I'm entering this after all. I did become a "follower". Is that different from lurker *LOL* Seriously, Ott's are great products for anyone who is a stitcher, reader, beader, scrapper or who just appreciates a "true color" in their life.
