From Around the ‘Net – Free Quilt Patterns

Big Horn Quilts is offering several free stashbuster patterns that are perfect for the stash / scrap quilter. While you’re there, check out their sale fabrics – $3 - $5 per yard!

Sew Natural has a cute free pattern for a cell phone bag – nice way to use up some of your favorite scraps. The online patterns comes with a step-by-step tutorial. Very easy project!

mysteryquiltsmall Don’t miss this beautiful Country Sampler Quilt pattern by Debbi Mumm – found at the Country Register web site, which is well worth visiting!

Planning a quilt of your own design? Check out these free downloadable design sheets, brought to you by Paper Pieces.com. They also offer free classic hexagon quilt patterns.

Quilting About.com is known for all it’s free quilt patterns and great information on quilting, but have you been to Janet Wickell’s web site? Janet is the editor of Quilting About.com and offers MANY beautiful free patterns on her site, ScrapQuilts.com.

swift-and-sunny-beautyIf you’ve never visited The Purl Bee, you are in for an amazing trip through Creativity Land. (Don’t even think about going to this web site unless you have a few hours free – there is THAT much to see!). The Purl Bee offers instructions on how to make a quick tied quilt that’s not only a good use of scraps, but will be a beautiful addition to any home.

The book Seams to Me: 24 New Reasons to Love Sewing caused quite a buzz around the Internet not long ago. In case you didn’t get a copy, here’s a free pattern called “The Playing Along Quilt” from the book, brought to you by SewingIdeas.com. There’s many great free patterns on this web site, so check them all out!

Two of my favorite web sites – SewMamaSew and Oh! Fransson! – present free pattern for a useful yet pretty Weighted PinCushion Organizer. The QOB Yahoo Group is currently having a Secret Sister Exchange – and what a great Secret Sister gift this would be! Or a Mother’s Day gift, or a birthday gift, or….

I’d not heard of the fabric collections by Art Gallery Fabrics before, but I do love what I see! According to their web site, they are “very well known for the exceptional premium quality cotton and a modern, fresh, and contemporary approach to designs.” And if you take a peek at their fabrics, you’ll understand why. It’s wonderful to find that they offer free quilt patterns to go with their gorgeous line of fabric! Many of these patterns can be used for scrap quilts, but you may just want to toss the budget out the window when you see the Art Gallery Fabric lines…  Sssshhh.. I didn’t say that!

That’s all for today!
