Here's an online Quilt Fabric Calculator from Hickory Hill Quilts. Put in height and width of your blocks, how many blocks down and across, and this calculator will tell you how much fabric to buy. Great for translating quilts you see but don't have a pattern for.

Use this Enlarging/Reducing Scale Calculator from The Quilted Snail when you want to increase the size of a block, but not sure by how much to increase it. This is particiularly helpful for paper piecing blocks.

Need to know how big a "twin size" or "full size" mattress is? Here's a handy chart of U.S. mattress standards for you from Bragada Mattresses.
