Last week I wrote a post concerning lighting in the quilt room, and the advantage of using lighting by OttLite. The OttLite Company has graciously offered an OttLite Floor Lamp to give away to one of this blog’s lucky readers.
I ordered two OttLites and received them two days ago, and all I can say is WOW! I had no idea that lighting could make such a difference. I do hand embroidery and hand knitting while watching TV at night. The table top OttLite next to my chair has made a startling difference by lessening eye strain – enabling me to work on my project much longer than normal, and allows me to see the smallest details of my work far easier. I gave my husband the second OttLite for his computer desk, and he’s as amazed as I am. The light does not glare off his computer screen, and, again, puts an end to eye strain while working on the computer. I can’t recommend these lights enough!
THE GIVEAWAY PRIZE
Thanks to the generosity of the OttLite Company, I’m giving away a Wing Shade Floor Lamp. «Oldest ‹Older 201 – 253 of 253I use a table ottlite for my stitchery when at my EGA meetings. It is great treat and ease on the eye strain, as you mentioned. I think having a floor ottlite would be great for either me or my mom as she does stitchery too. Thanks for the great giveaway.
One benefit is: The eye can focus better without the harsh glare, distortion and fatigue other light sources cause. Thanks!
I would love to have an OTTLIte. I have trouble doing my hand sewing. This would really help.
I am now one of your followers.
I have a wonderful little corner where I do hand sewing, I have my Grandma's Rocking chair and the ott light would be a great addition in my little sewing corner. Thanks to Ottlite for donating an ottlite. :) Jeanne

Hi--I've used a tabletop Ott-lite for several years and love it! I would love a floor lamp for my quilting, particularly when it comes to binding. What a great advantage that would be to get bindings just right! Thanks for the entry--Chantie Belnap. chantiebelnap@msn.com
I am now following your blog!

I've always wanted an OttLite for my sewing area - they really brighten up your space (and reduce eye strain) and I love the face you can see colors truely!
It is amazing that OttLite has agreed to give away this fabulous floor lamp! I have seen OttLites, but do not own one. Boy would I love to, though. They really do reduce the strain on your eyes. Plus, the color of the light really allows for a truer sense of the materials you are working with. Thanks so much for the chance to win this wonderful light!
I have the small portable Ott lite and I LOVE IT. Wouldn't go to a retreat without it...not to mention the dreary winter days in my sewing room. I've always wanted an Ott floor lamp.
Thank you for this opportunity to win one.
Fingers crossed....Eileen
I love OttLite for my creative work since it offers the perfect balance between brightness and contrast.
I am now following your blog! Another entry for the Ott Light!
Woo Hoo!!!!
I quilt and sew at my dinning room table and the light in the kitchen is okay, but not bright enough to tell the true colors of my fabric to match up with. I need to go to a window with natural sunlight to make sure fabrics match or the thread is the color I need. Also, the light on my machine does not illuminate the stitching as well as I would like, and the Ott Light would do wonders for me to see all of my sewing "in a much better light!"
Thanks for this opportunity!
Sure hope I win!

I have an Ott Lamp on my table next to my sewing machine. It is wonderful to use day or night and helps me to see tiny details. It would be sooooo nice to win the floor one. I wanted one but it was a little expensive. I have put my name under your followers. Thanks for hosting this great blog giveaway. Happy Quilting!
I have a friend who has an OttLite and I have always been so envious!! She can sew at night on black fabric!! Argh!!! Alas, my bank account sneers at me when I think about purchasing one......

OttLite is like having the outdoors indoors! Sure helps with cabin fever!! Plus I really like that it is eco friendly!
So glad you are loving yours! Good luck all!
Linda
I've had experience using an Ott task lite, and it really does make a difference. Now that I'm involved in many different crafts, I think it's time to graduate to the floor model. It's amazing how true the colors are with the Ott Lite. Thanks for the chance.

I could use an Ott light for better color working with my fabrics. Also having good light that I can move from work area to work area would be awesome.

A Sunny FL Resident!
I've wanted an OttLite for a long time but resisted because of the price. My friend has one and just loves it.
I know that the OttLite will help reduce both glare and eyestrain, and help me see colors more truly in my crafting projects. I'd love to have one in my craft room. Thanks for contest and thanks to OttLite for donating the prize!

I have a small OTT light, but a floor lamp would really make a difference while working at night to reduce eye strain.
I added link to blog.
I also wrote a post on my blog. :)
and I added your blog to my google reader. :)
That should cover all the extra entries. Thank you!
I have 2 of the smaller Ott Lites and since I am going through menopause not only do I love how the true colors of my fabric come through under an OTT Lite but I also like how I can work more comfortably under a light that doesn't put out a lot of heat. :o)
I have added a post on my blog about your blog and the OttLite contest. My mom is an awesome quilter, I'll point her towards your blog!

I always wanted an OTT Lite, but it has been out of my budget. Now the lightbulbs- I can get them a little at a time and enjoy!
Oops!! I forgot to leave my e-mail address. Perhaps the lamp would help me with that too! :)

As I age this light would help me see my CQing and quilting as well as other projects so much, would be proud to use. gahome4me@yahoo.com
I have a tabletop light that sits behind my machine, but I had no idea there were so many different styles! I registered for the newsletter and would love to win a floor lamp.
This light seems to be the answer for aging eyes. Thanks for sharing the information.

Oops -- looks like my original comment regarding the benefits of OttLites has gone missing, so I'll try again. My favorite benefit is Seeing details accurately. Under an OttLite I can see to rip out black thread from black fabric. I sure would like this lamp for my living room.
THe OttLite is amazing. I love that the lighting is the same as natural light. I remember being in a college costume class and having to run the garment over to the window to check colors. This is so nice. I also love that they've got eco friendly bulbs. Thanks for the chance!

What a great giveaway! I'd love an OttLite to help work at night to see better and to see true colors better in my crazy quilting!
Ottlite enhances your creative process with incredible technology and a great price!
Great contest! Sandrap@oz.net
Looking so forward to the final drawing of this Ott Light. I love belonging to the Quilting on Budget website group and this is just one way that the group is helping again on one's budget. Winning is always cheaper on the budget than buying right???? I do hope the lucky recipient treasures there winnings as much as many others of it would. I hope I see the light on this fantastic product.

Thank you for doing the giveaway! I think having an Ottlite would be an awesome way to treat and THANK my eyes for all I expect them to do while I'm stitching, esp at night. I tried my mom's last week and she could barely pry me out of her chair.

I have one Ott light in my living room for hand embroidery, it is wonderful!! I wear glasses and still have a hard time seeing the tiny stitches and beads that I put on quilts. With my Ott light, it makes everything so much easier to see and enjoy my work. I would love to win one to use at my sewing machine as I struggle with looking at a pattern and then back at the fabric I am sewing. It is hard for my eyes to adjust. Would love to win one!!
Tammy
You can never have too much natural light! The ability to see fine details and correct colors will make any crafting job easier.

Please put an additional entry for me in the Ott Lite drawing.
Thank you.
I've always wanted an OttLite but couldn't afford it. I love hand sewing and reading and the OttLite would be great for both!
The benefit of an Ottlite is that it allows you to see the real colors of your fabrics. This would be awesome to win.
I am a member of the wonderful group Quilting on a budget. Love that group! Great Ideas and grand people.

Okay maybe I finally clicked on the right thing to enter this Ott giveaway contest, yeah! My back bedroom studio could really use one, & so could these tired, getting older, eyes of mine! Bringing more daylight inside is a great idea & am doing that in every possible way now. I also posted a message in my blog...
http://happymrs2552.blogspot.com/
in case that listing link doesn't show up on here! I have always loved the Ott lights, but like others, haven't been able to afford one. So here's hoping!
Email addy is: happymrs2552@yahoo.com
I have two mini desk ott's currently and love them both, one by my computer and one by my extra sewing machine. I also have a floor model for my main sewing area that was a gift from my DH (who wants to take it to his office)! I guess I'm entering this after all. I did become a "follower". Is that different from lurker *LOL* Seriously, Ott's are great products for anyone who is a stitcher, reader, beader, scrapper or who just appreciates a "true color" in their life.
